EPCOT at 40
EPCOT, the world famous theme park located in the Walt Disney World Resort, celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2022. Celebrating this milestone and overlapping with a historic transformation of the park, I was tasked with reflecting the celebratory nature of the article as it highlighted the many exciting offerings and new experiences at EPCOT.

Inspiration
The overall article design drew from EPCOT’s new color-coded neighborhood structure while marrying it with elements from the theme park’s timeless design elements. As part of the historic transformation, areas of the park were reintroduced as "neighborhoods" with updated names and assigned color pairings:
World Celebration (Blue)
World Nature (Green)
World Discovery (Red)
World Showcase (Orange/Yellow)
I paired these four colors with the original "John Hench purple" as a nod to the park's original design.
“Purple was an important color in helping us to define the look and story of Epcot, distinguishing it from the Magic Kingdom. The shades of violet purple we chose captured both the elegance of the past in World Showcase and the inspiring thrill of the future in Future World.”
– John Hench, Designing Disney: Imagineering and the Art of the Show
Three highlight sections were placed throughout the article laid on top of a light geodesic pattern, a nod to the theme park’s icon: Spaceship Earth.
